ATLA: A Moment Alone

They had decided to take a break, just a small one, near a pond large enough to practice some bending. Nothing more than going over a few difficult moves and 'splashing around,' as Sokka so kindly put it. A swift attack here and there, a dodge, soft "That's right"s and "More like this"s.

After about twenty minutes, both of them realized that they weren't exactly concentrating on the mock battle at all. The boy looked away for a moment, face flushed, before turning to study her again; she tugged at a loose strand of hair hanging by her cheek.

Seeing as they'd all been so busy lately, there never seemed to be enough time for just the two of them. Alone time. So she wasn't really shocked when Aang moved closer, taking her by the arms and leaning in. In fact, she was somewhat glad with this small moment of peace.

"KATARA! AANG! You may think we can't see you, but you are technically still standing on earth! Toph's 'about to barf,' or so she claims, because of certain things going on over there!" Sokka's voice rang out shrilly. The two benders jumped apart, beet-red. "Need I remind you that making out is not a part of our plans right now? IN FACT, both Zuko and I would much rather not have to see it at all!"

"But it doesn't really bo--"

"Shush up, this doesn't concern you."

Once Sokka had finished scolding them, Aang was shoved off to practice some earthbending.

Maybe they'd have time later....
